The Open Section of the World Open ended in a 3-way tie for First, with GM Haowen Xue, GM Prraneeth Vuppala and IM Evan Park scoring 7.5 out of 9, each winning $11,666.67. Evan Park and Haowen Xue had the best tiebreaks of the three, and played an Armageddon Game for an additional $500 and the title of World Open Champion. Xue won the playoff (he played White with 5 minutes while Park took Black and 4 minutes with draw odds) and is the 2026 World Open Champion.
FM Ted Wang finished with 6.5 points and earned an IM norm.
